At Towson, the student experience is all about involvement and engagement. Join fellow students from across the country and around the world and get involved in a host of student activities, from gallery exhibits to guest lectures to big-name concerts.
Housing services
The backdrop for learning is Towson’s beautiful 329-acre suburban campus, located eight miles north of Baltimore and less than an hour’s drive from Washington, D.C. Throughout the entire region, Towson’s strong partnerships with public and private organizations provide unique opportunities for research, internships and jobs.
Library services
In the Library you can get a cup of coffee, connect to the wireless network, attend a class-related information literacy instruction session, and browse the stacks to find hidden literary gems. There are also computer workstations, printers and photocopiers throughout the building, a Leisure Reading Collection with novels and cookbooks, a multimedia lab that includes video editing software.
ICT services
MEEC software is distributed to all TU faculty and staff members for use on their university-owned computer desktops, laptops and tablets.
On campus, MEEC software is either already installed on your TU computer or distributed through the Software Center application found on the Start menu in Windows, or through the Self Service application on a Mac computer.
Medical services
The Health Center offers a full range of primary, urgent and preventive health care services for our students. Our staff encourage you to take an active role in your health, and are dedicated to providing the highest level of care, while maintaining confidentiality. The Health Center promotes public health by maintaining immunization compliance for the campus community.
Student Life
Campus life
Towson offers 15 residence halls on campus that represent an eclectic mix of old and new architecture. 3 of these buildings, Paca/Tubman Houses and Millennium Hall, are managed in collaboration with Capstone On Campus Management. The buildings range from cozy two- and three-story halls to high-rise towers. If you are a new freshman, we guarantee on-campus housing for your first two years at Towson.
Sports facilities
- Clubs offer opportunities for learning a new sport, improving existing sport skills, practicing and playing for fun, and/or competing at various levels. Club officers develop valuable leadership skills, through successful management of administrative affairs and intra-club dynamics.
- Campus Recreation oversees and advises all Sport Clubs. Clubs must operate within the Sport Clubs Organization framework of policies and procedures, which are in place to promote safety and manage risk. Clubs are funded by the Student Government Association.
