Campus life

Our single site, city-centre campus and Business School are a beautiful place to learn and socialise, just minutes' away from the heart of the action in the city. Our campus is perfectly situated less than two minutes' walk from the hustle and bustle of the main city centre shopping area. We're also just across the road from a Metro station which connects you to other parts of the city and the coast.

Sports facilities

At Newcastle we're passionate about supporting you to continue your favourite sport during your degree. We are one of the top UK universities for sport. Our wide range of sports clubs compete as ‘Team Newcastle’ in the British Universities and Colleges Sport league and we’re consistently highly ranked in the league, where we excel in many sports including basketball, fencing, lacrosse, rowing, rugby union, squash and water polo. Our sports scholarship programme enables high-performing student athletes to fulfil both their sporting and academic potential. Our clubs welcome students of all abilities and, with professional coaching available across many of our activities, it's a great time to try something new.

Student clubs

With a huge range of societies, sports clubs, student representation and support, the Students' Union is the focus for many social activities on campus - and thousands get involved every year.  Being a postgraduate at Newcastle isn't just about academic learning, you also have the chance to meet new people and discover new interests. The Newcastle University Students' Union (NUSU) is the focus for many social activities. It has venues for gigs, cafe, shops, an award-winning student newspaper, radio station and more than 200 student societies. The whole building provides an outstanding social hub.

Our accredited degrees share close links with industry, meaning that our students are exposed to cutting edge business developments. Students graduating from accredited courses are also eligible to apply for membership of a professional body and may be exempt from professional exams or further academic study.
