The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand

The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand is the nation’s leading distance and online learning provider with a rich history dating back to 1946. Originally, it was created to provide resettlement training for servicemen and women returning home from World War II. Situated in Lower Hutt near New Zealand’s capital city Wellington, the tertiary education institution offers a range of learning disciplines. In 2020, it became a subsidiary of Te Pūkenga - New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology.

Presently, the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand welcomes around 30,000 learners in New Zealand. A fantastic opportunity for international study, it also welcomes students from 40 other countries. The majority of their student body work full or part time while studying in order to pursue their ideal career while earning income simultaneously.
