Ca' Foscari University of Venice is a public university in Venice, Italy; it is usually known simply as Università Ca' Foscari. Since its foundation in 1868 it has been housed in the Venetian Gothic palace of Ca' Foscari, from which it takes its name.

Library services

The University Library System (SBA) includes 4 main libraries (Arts and Humanities, Economics and Management, Languages and Cultures, Science and Technology), holding about 1 million books and 4,400 periodicals and providing access to a wide range of electronic resources.

ICT services

  • Access to the Ca' Foscari WiFi network is reserved exclusively for: students, staff, accredited guests and guests belonging to eduroam member organisations.
  • Ca’ Foscari users can access for free the Wi-Fi network of the Venice City Council (VeniceConnected) by using the same username and password provided when they registered on the Ca’ Foscari website.

Campus life

It’s true when they say that Venice is a place like no other – one where history collides with innovation and where inspiration lies around every corner. Ca’ Foscari’s main campus is located in the heart of Venice’s historic center, but it also has additional campuses on the mainland.

While many of our university buildings are historic, they are all equipped with modern technology. What is more, our Economics Campus was completely renovated just a few years ago and our Scientific Campus is brand new.

The University offers students the use of:

  • a sports center,
  • canteens in many locations of Venice and on the mainland.

Sports facilities

Are you an athlete who does not want to abandon the sport during your studies? Do you love to try new experiences? The University Sports Centre of Venice (CUS) has everything for you, at special prices for students!

Among the most important are:

  • Judo and personal defence
  • Aerobics, yoga, and different kinds of gymnastics
  • Volleyball, basketball, handball and five-aside-football teams
  • Tennis, golf, horse-riding and free climbing
  • Rowing, 'voga alla veneta', sailing, canoeing and kayaking
  • Swimming pool, acquagym e scubadiving

Ca’ Foscari guarantees students a well-rounded study experience through its provision a large variety of sports activities and student associations:
