Student services
Duke Kunshan University is a place for learning, living and growing, in a setting that encourages the pursuit of knowledge within and beyond the classroom. The City of Kunshan is located in close proximity to both Shanghai and Suzhou, two of the largest and most developed metropolitan areas in China.
The city of Kunshan is a center for business and high-tech research and manufacturing, and it has one of the fastest growing economies in China. The 200-acre campus site is within the Kunshan Yangcheng Lake Science Park and features state-of-the-art classroom and meeting facilities, library resources, student and faculty housing and dining space, and recreational facilities.
Housing services
A three-story, 200-bed student residence with suites emulate the Unité model of Le Corbusier—each suite is entered from the second floor, with shared living on that level and four bedrooms (all singles) and two shared bathrooms above or below.
The Faculty Residence is a two-story building that has 16 units of faculty apartments, each with a live/work loft concept.Library services
The school’s teaching programs are housed in the three-story building containing four tiered classrooms, an auditorium, a library, a dining room for students and conference participants, and a business center.
The three-story Innovation Center will be equipped with a library, classrooms and team rooms.ICT services
DKU IT provides computing and technology resource support to DKU students, faculty and staff, including visiting Duke students and faculty.
DKU students, faculty and staff have access to a wide range of IT services, including NetIDs, network access, email, computer software, course web sites (Sakai) and multimedia, lecture capture, and voice/videoconferencing services, among others.Medical services
The Campus Health Clinic is an important unit housed within the Duke Kunshan University Student Affairs team. The mission of Campus Health is to provide basic and first aid medical care, health education and workshops on preventive health to students, to finally improve students’ physical status and enrich their college life.

The campus blends traditional Chinese elements with advanced educational technology in a spacious, modern setting. Extensive aquatic elements, including an aquatic quadrangle at the center of campus, symbolize the region’s famous water towns and are integrated throughout the campus, while leading information technology and Telepresence systems provide instant connections to colleagues and classmates around the world.
The DKU campus includes classroom and research spaces, student and faculty residences, dining facilities, an executive conference center, and recreation and leisure spaces.Sports facilities
After upgrades to create a fully functioning gym with areas for aerobic, exercise machines and free weights, Duke Kunshan’s newly equipped Fitness Center will greatly contribute to our mission to promote a healthy lifestyle among students, faculty and staff.In addition to treadmills and Stairmasters, cardio areas on the second floor now have spin bikes, rowing machines and latest Octane multifunctional elliptical machines. The third floor is now reserved for cable machines and free weights, with the addition of a glute builder, squat racks, bench press and a greater range of free weights.
Student clubs
The Office of Student Life supports the intellectual, social, cultural, and physical development of students. Our programs and services enhance and complement the Duke Kunshan academic experience by providing opportunities for students to explore interests beyond the classroom. These opportunities include psychological counseling, health services, physical recreation, student leadership, and a variety of cultural activities such as excursions and events.
Accreditation
The Duke faculty and Board of Trustees have approved the awarding of Duke University degrees for the Master of Science in Medical Physics, Master of Management Studies and Master of Science in Global Health programs.
Duke University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS) to award baccalaureate, masters and doctorate degrees.
