The University of Agder (UiA) has 13,000 students and 1,400 faculty and staff members. UiA is a young and modern university located in Southern Norway, with two campuses in the cities of Kristiansand and Grimstad. We strive every day to achieve excellence in teaching and research and encourage our students to take part in this pursuit.

Services

Student services

At UiA, we wish to foster a culture which is based on responsibility and openness. Speaking out about things which do not work, undesirable incidents, accidents
ear-accidents, and reporting wrongdoing are all part of the measures required for developing a positive and acceptable work and study environment.If you know about or have been made aware of wrongdoing at UIA, you are therefore encouraged to speak out about or give notice concerning them. This will provide those responsible with the opportunity to implement necessary steps and to avoid a recurrence of similar situations in the future.  

Housing services

International students from outside EU/EEA who are spending a minimum of one semester at UiA are guaranteed student accommodation in shared or single rooms.

Library services

The University Library aims to increase the use of quality assured sources of knowledge, and also to make those sources of knowledge available on all relevant platforms; printed, digital, multimedial – regardless of location. We will ensure that the services, resources and tools are available on various learning management systems.

ICT services

The library’s services and ICT services are present in the physical learning environment to support students in their daily learning experiences and employees in their research and teaching.

Medical services

Other issues as for example: High-fidelity simulation, Serious games, Perceived health, e-Health, Health-related quality of life, Self-care, Sense of coherence, Risk for undernutrition, Mental health, Loneliness, Informal and formal care, Dementia care, Transitions, Palliative care, Volunteering and Instrument testing among older people.

Student Life

Campus life

UiA has two campuses, Campus Kristiansand and Campus Grimstad. The buildings at Campus Kristiansand are surrounded by nature and have a sleek, contemporary design. The campus is close to recreational areas and in walking distance of the city centre. The top-notch facilities at Campus Grimstad include a media production studio, a simulated hospital, advanced laboratories and a smart house for technology testing.

Sports facilities

The sport facilities are very good, with a training centre on campus and a lot of outdoor options.

Student clubs

The Student Organization in Agder (STA) is the official representative body for students at the University of Agder. The overarching goals of the organization is to work for the professional, social, economic and welfare interests of the students at UiA. STA organizes around 13,000 students and is the umbrella organization for a variety of student activities. STA is the voice of our students on campus, in the local arena and nationally. STA has three political committees that function as expert bodies in three different areas: welfare policies, academic policies and international policies.

Accreditation

The University College received full university accreditation and became the University of Agder on 1 September 2007. In 2015.
