Zuyd International Office is happy to help you throughout the various application processes for admission and visa, and with coming to live in Maastricht. In addition the International Office provides you with information on scholarship opportunities.
Housing services
Are you looking for a room in Maastricht? We advise you to start your search early, because the student housing market in Maastricht gets busier every year. It is much easier to find a room in May- July compared to in August and September. Maastricht Housing is a great starting point for your search for accommodation in and around Maastricht. To apply for a room you need to register. The fee for subscription is € 35.
Library services
All the campuses of Zuyd have libraries featuring modern computer and study facilities. At the libraries you can consult and borrow books, magazines and audiovisual media. The website of the library provides easy access to several databases. With the free library card you can get access to other libraries in the region, including the library of Maastricht University.
ICT services
Moodle is Zuyd's e-learning environment. It contains online information and teaching material, categorized by course or study programme. All of our buildings feature computer work stations with fast internet access. You will also have access to a Wi-Fi network, a computer account with a personal e-mail address, storage capacity for your personal files and printing facilities.
Medical services
Before you travel to the Netherlands, make sure that you are properly insured against risks. A healthcare insurance is one of the conditions you will have to meet to receive your residence permit. There are different options depending on the reason of your stay.
Student Life
Campus life
Maastricht is part of the attractive province of Limburg, the most southern province of the Netherlands. Bustling and dynamic towns such as Aachen, Liège, Hasselt and Tongeren are close by, humming with cultural activity and great places for shopping or entertainment. If you prefer outdoor activities and nature, it is only a short drive to the hills of the Ardennes and the Eifel.
Sports facilities
If you like to sport, you have several opportunities. You can become a member of UM Sports, that offers more than 50 different sports. If you want to plan your own time, the gym is the place to be and if you want to play in a team the sport associations are welcoming new members. There are of course also many sports associations, health clubs, yoga and pilates studios in Maastricht that you can join or where you can take classes.
