Services

Student services

The Office of Student Diversity Programs advises and facilitates diversity-focused student organizations and collaborates with academic and other departmental programs concerned with diversity.

Housing services

Let’s just say, there’s a reason 90% of Skidmore students choose to live on campus — our picturesque landscape is captivating, our dining hall is award-winning, our facilities are fueled by green energy, and Travel & Leisure calls Saratoga one of “America’s best college towns.”

Library services

Located at the heart of the Skidmore College campus, the Lucy Scribner Library offers a comfortable and productive environment designed for research and collaboration. The Library was built in 1966 and most recently renovated in 2012, which enhanced the library’s services by adding new seating areas, study carrels, and group study rooms.

ICT services

The Charlotte M. Lanzit Center for Computers and Writing (Palamountain Hall 302) provides students with a comfortable environment in which to use computers for academic or personal writing projects. The center is one of the fully networked computer labs on campus and provides students resources to compose, revise, and print their work.

Medical services

Skidmore College Health Services provides accessible, caring, high-quality, cost-effective health care to a diverse student population. Health Services partners with students, their primary care providers, the campus community and the greater Saratoga Springs healthcare community.

Student Life

Campus life

Campus life is special at a small, residential college. Inside the "Skidmore bubble" is the place where students study, eat, sleep, and immerse themselves in college co-curricular life. Through participation in student government, on college committees, in orientation programs, student clubs and organizations, retreats, trainings, and volunteer work, students acquire the skills of leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration and cooperation with people of different perspectives and backgrounds. Co-curricular life is a place where students get to apply what they learn in the classroom, express the values and commitments central to their identities, and develop the core skills and dispositions informed.

Sports facilities

Athletics: 19 varsity teams; a founding member of the Liberty League and a member of NCAA Division III, the New England Hockey Conference and the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.

Student clubs

International Student Union (ISU) members come from all corners of the world. We serve to promote a sense of community and cultural understanding among international and American students at Skidmore; develop activities to increase intercultural exchange and international awareness; serve as consultants to international students; and provide opportunities for Skidmore College students to explore their leadership potentials.
