Private, coeducational, nonsectarian, undergraduate, residential, contemporary liberal arts founded in 1835. One of America's 37 "Revolutionary Colleges," institutions with origins reaching back to the 18th century. Established initially as the Muskingum Academy in 1797.

Library services

The Marietta College Legacy Library has received a donation of two historically significant paintings, both dating from the mid-1830s. The paintings represent two historical structures of significance to the founding of Marietta and were painted by two of the artists active in the area: Campus Martius by Charles Sullivan and Fort Harmar by Sala Bosworth. 

Medical services

The Dr. J. Michael Harding Center for Health and Wellness (CHW) is an integrated wellness center offering services in three areas: Health Services, Counseling & Psychological Services and Sexual Assault Prevention. The facility is located in Harrison Hall.

Campus life

The College's picturesque 90-acre campus is in Marietta, Ohio, just two blocks from downtown. The campus includes a state-of-the-art recreation center, planetarium and library.

Sports facilities

Marietta College is a member of the NCAA Division III and the Ohio Athletic Conference, a 10-team collegiate conference founded in 1902 and the third-oldest in the nation. The Pioneers compete in 20 varsity sports, including nationally competitive teams in crew, baseball, track & field, women's soccer, softball. They added men's and women's golf to the athletic department for the 2017 season.
