Student services

If you don’t hold U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident Status, you’ll apply as an international student. There is no special application; you’ll choose either the regular first-year or transfer application.

Last year, about 500 of our undergraduate students came from more than 100 countries outside of the U.S. These students contribute an incredible diversity of perspective and ideas to our community. Housing services

Campus life

Engage in some serious fun. Campus Recreation welcomes students, faculty, staff and family members of all ability levels to enjoy our inclusive social and physical activities, from personal fitness and outdoor education to intramural and club sports.

Sports facilities

Work out in our fully equipped fitness and aquatic centers, soar across our zip line or canoe on Kerr Lake. Make a splash, run the field, conquer the course -- and find your place to play.

  • The Bowman Gray Memorial Pool Olympic-length pool includes two 50-meter, six 25 meter, and six 25 yard lanes, ranging from 3 feet to 10 feet. Bowman Gray is ADA compliant. The pool can be accessed through the Woollen men’s and women’s locker rooms.
  • Located across from the main entrance of Carmichael Auditorium, Intramural Sports use these fields for flag football, soccer, softball, and kickball. Sport Clubs, such as ultimate frisbee, soccer, and rugby, use Hooker Fields for practice and games.

UNC-Chapel Hill faculty connect their research to community through this two-year, highly interactive curriculum designed to connect scholarship with community needs

Accreditation

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and many of its individual programs participate regularly in rigorous review processes for the purpose of maintaining accreditation. Institution-wide accreditation is governed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, the regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S Department of Education.
