Services
Student services
- Programme coordinators are usually the first contact point for international students. They can help you with most questions concerning your studies.
- Study Advisors of the faculties help you with study and admission related issues
- Head of Academic and Student Affairs knows the best the study affairs of the faculty. S/he can provide information on e.g. student admission and study plans.
- International Officers take care of student exchange programmes and grants and can help you if you want to go on exchange. Career services are in charge of internships abroad.
- Teachers have usually specific appointment times when students can visit them.
Housing services
The housing situation in Turku is relatively good and student appartments are of easy walking, cycling or a bus ride distance from the campus.
It is your responsibility to arrange accommodation for yourself. University of Turku cannot unfortunately guarantee or arrange housing for students and therefore we recommend that you apply housing well in advance, observing the deadlines set by individual housing providers.
Library services
In the coronavirus situation libraries are open with limited service hours only for University staff and students with access rights. In accordance with the University’s policies, the University buildings will be kept locked, but staff and students can access the buildings as well as the libraries with electronic tag during opening hours.
ICT services
You can access the wireless network anywhere on campus. There are two networks: UTU Visitor for Visitors and Eduroam.
Medical services
Student health care (Finnish Student Health Service, FSHS) is available to all attending Bachelor's and Master's Degree students. The compulsory health care fee must be paid directly to Kela. Doctoral students are not entitled to use the services of FSHS.

Campus life
The Turku Campus of the University of Turku is located close to the city centre and the Aura river nearby the other higher education institutions, Turku Science Park companies, and the Turku University Hospital. The campus area extends from Turku Cathedral all the way to the Kupittaa railway station.
Sports facilities
CampusSport offers sports services for the students and staff of the higher education institutions in Turku.
Student clubs
The Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY, Turun yliopiston ylioppilaskunta) is a public corporation completely independent of the University of Turku. The membership fee of the Union is compulsory to all students.
