Student services
Each TUAS campus has its own Student Office. The responsibilities of the study secretaries working in the Student Offices include, for instance,
- maintaining study records;
- informing students;
- receiving applications;
- preparing and providing certificates;
- distributing user IDs and passwords; and
- providing other study-related support services
Housing services
Finding a place to stay in Turku requires active effort from you. Turku University Applied Sciences (TUAS) cannot guarantee or arrange housing for exchange students; you have to apply for it yourself.We recommend that you start applying for accommodation as soon as you have received your acceptance to study / do practical training at TUAS.
Library services
TUAS library offers high-quality information resources both at the libraries as well as online, and guides and helps in seeking information. Library has altogether five libraries on campuses situated in Turku (Lemminkäisenkatu, Ruiskatu, Sepänkatu, Linnankatu) and Salo.
ICT services
The department of Learning environment services is responsible for IT-services and systems at Turku University of Applied Sciences. Among other things, the department’s goal is to maintain, develop and support TUAS’ IT-infrastructure, systems and services.
Medical services
The following health care services to students are free of charge:
- general practitioner,
- public health nurse,
- psychologist,
- laboratories, and X-rays.
- There is a fee for dental services.
Student Life
Campus life
Turku is one of the largest cities in Finland. The city has 40,000 higher education students and six higher education institutions. TUAS’ campuses are located close to the city centre and the river Aura. In Turku the distances are short, and you can easily move from one place to another on foot, by bike or by bus.TUAS’ Kupittaa Campus is a part of the constantly evolving Turku Science Park. The area is an internationally significant cluster of business life and research. Several higher education institutions, hundreds of companies and a university hospital are located in the area, right next to the city centre of Turku.
Sports facilities
The CampusSport services are intended for every member of the higher education community in Turku.
Student clubs
The student union of Turku University of Applied Sciences – TUO is the student’s home in TUAS, the one organization that takes care of your interests as a student. TUO has altogether over 4500 members – we welcome you to join the ranks!The membership of the student union is optional. TUO belongs to SAMOK, which is the umbrella organization of the student unions of the Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences. TUO is religiously and politically neutral and independent from trade unions.
