Student services
Our university is a campus university. That means that all lecture halls, seminar rooms and laboratories as well as the refectory, library, sports facilities and many places in student accommodation are situated in the park-like area of our university and near the Strelasund offering a marvellous view of the Isle of Ruegen.
Housing services
Whether in student halls of residence, a shared flat or your first own flat, this decision has to be made by you and should be made according to your own desires and available funds. Stralsund offers exceptionally good conditions and is not affected by overly expensive rental prices and a highly competitive property market like in other study locations and cities.
Library services
The university library was founded in autumn 1991. The inventory currently comprises 120,000 media. The main focus is on the fields of economics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science.
Student Life
Campus life
Student life on the campus offers a wide range of recreational facilities. You may go in for different kinds of sports in the sports clubs of our university and watch films organised by our universitys film club.
Whether you attend cultural events or go to student parties there is always something going on on the university campus.
Due to its favourable location directly at the Strelasund and the sailing harbour, there are very good facilities for watersport activities.
As a campus university, HOST offers one of the most charming accommodation options: in a small village in Scandinavian look and feel, located on campus – just a few steps from the Mensa (Cafeteria) and the schools.
Sports facilities
Apart from the University’s sports club, there are also other sports clubs in Stralsund that offer a wide variety of sports. Membership in a sports club is not very expensive. Members have to pay an annual membership fee and can then take part in all sports activities. The sports clubs in Stralsund offer a huge array of sports, ranging from basketball, handball, football, volleyball to martial arts, gymnastics and athletics.
