Founded in 1559 by Jean Calvin, the University of Geneva is dedicated to thinking, teaching, dialogue and research. With 16’500 students of more than 150 different nationalities, UNIGE offers more than 500 programmes (including 129 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes, 80 doctoral programmes) and more than 300 continuing education programmes covering an extremely wide variety of fields.

We provide different types of accommodation, such as individual bedrooms with access to communal kitchen and bathroom facilities, individual bedrooms in shared apartments for 2 to 7 people, and studio apartments, totalling 675 beds.

Yes, they have books, ebooks, articles or journal databases or you can even book a workspace.

ICT services

The IT research and teaching assistants (ARE-i) are students’ main points of contact for IT support. These students, who have undergone special training for their role, can be found in each faculty’s computer lab as well as the various libraries around campus.

Medical services

Medical and pharmaceutical costs are high in Switzerland. You must absolutely purchase medical and accident insurance upon your arrival. The various available insurance options will be sent to you with your letter of acceptance.
