Student services
The Hertie School offers students a friendly, close-knit atmosphere. Our staff and faculty assist students before and upon their arrival in Berlin, and support them throughout their studies.
Housing services
Germany's capital is a hub for political and cultural events, and a crossroads for travel in Europe and beyond. Located in the city's “Mitte” neighbourhood, the Hertie School is just minutes away from the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate and other important political and historic landmarks. As the capital of Germany, Berlin is the epicentre for political decision-makers and policy debates. It's also a city where history is all around, a fascinating backdrop for studying public policy. Although Berlin is a relatively affordable city, there’s a high demand for housing and finding the right place can be time-consuming. So start early!
Library services
The Hertie School is an institution of higher learning committed to academic excellence. The library team sees it as its responsibility to equip students and faculty with the necessary tools for their academic research. We try to accomplish this goal by providing our library users with access to electronic resources from everywhere on campus.
ICT services
The Hertie School provides wireless LAN in the whole building but you can also access the internet via the LAN ports at the study room tables.
Medical services
In Germany, every student studying at a state-recognised higher education institution is required by law to have health insurance. This concerns all full-time study programmes. Valid health insurance is a prerequisite for studying at the Hertie School and obtaining a residence permit.

Student clubs
The student association HSA represents and protects the interests of Hertie School students and carries out a number of specific tasks like club funding. In addition, each of the degree programmes has elected student representatives who serve as academic representatives and advocate on behalf of students in the Academic Senate and other school governance bodies.
