Ganja State University is a public university located in Ganja, Azerbaijan. It was founded in 1938 as a two-year Teacher's Institute named after Nadezhda Krupskaya. In 1943, it was reorganized into a four-year Kirovabad (Ganja) State Pedagogical Institute and named after Hasan bey Zardabi, a prominent Azerbaijani educator and founder of the first newspaper in Azerbaijan. In 2000, the institute's profile was expanded, and it was renamed Ganja State University. The university boasts a rich history spanning over 84 years and is proud to bear the name of Ganja, the birthplace of the renowned poet Nizami Ganjavi.
