The National School of Drama (NSD) is a renowned theatre training institution in India, established in 1959. It is the only institution of its kind in the country and is recognized as one of the foremost theatre training institutions globally. Initially a constituent unit of the Sangeet Natak Akademi, NSD became an independent, autonomous organization in 1975, fully funded by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
