Rivers State University of Science & Technology (RSU) is a public university located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Established in 1980, it was formed from the Rivers State College of Science and Technology, which was founded in 1972. RSU is the first Technological University in Nigeria and the first state-owned State University in the Niger Delta region. Its motto is "Excellence and Creativity." The university has a staff strength of approximately 1,800 and a student population exceeding 28,000. English is the language of instruction.
