Marketing BSBA

The BSBA in Marketing at East Carolina University provides students with the insight needed to identify marketing opportunities, develop appropriate strategies, and put them into action. With a focus on consumers and delivering value, marketing is an exciting field of business that stimulates lateral thinking and creativity.


About the Program

The program prepares students for management careers in advertising, sales, research, distribution, product planning, and international marketing. Many students with a concentration in marketing have gone on to successful careers in these fields.

What You Will Study

The Marketing, BSBA is concerned with the creation and delivery of value to customers and organizations. Marketing focuses on developing an understanding of customers and markets, creating products and services based on that understanding, and communicating and delivering the value added.


Program Requirements

The degree requires a minimum of 120 semester hours, including:


  • Concentration - 18 semester hours
    • Marketing concentration:
      • MKTG 3872 - Persuading Decision Makers
      • MKTG 4562 - Marketing Strategy
      • MKTG 4682 - Marketing Intelligence
    • Choose 9 semester hours of 4000-level MKTG electives, at least 3 semester hours of which must be from:
      • MKTG 4532 - Business and Organizational Marketing
      • MKTG 4732 - Consumer Behavior
