Program Overview

Partnership Teach Middle Grades Education Cohort

The Partnership Teach program offers a bachelor's degree in middle grades education, preparing teachers for classrooms in grades 6-9. Students in this program concentrate in language arts and social studies.

Program Details

Partnership Teach students begin at North Carolina community colleges and then transfer to East Carolina University to complete the remaining coursework online. The program usually starts part-time cohorts of middle grades education majors each fall. Students are placed in public school classrooms throughout the program to observe and practice teaching methods learned in the courses. A full-time internship in a public school classroom is required for all students in their senior year.

Admission Requirements

To join Partnership Teach, students must meet the requirements listed on the general description webpage as well as submit a Partnership Teach application to a Partnership Teach Coordinator and a Freshman/Transfer application to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at East Carolina University. Students must have access to the technology required as described in the Technology Requirements.

Program Structure

Traditionally, the smallest of the Partnership Teach models, middle grades cohorts must meet a minimum enrollment standard to begin annually.
