Classes and Credits
The program offers a variety of classes that satisfy foundations requirements in Humanities, Fine Arts, Science, Foreign Language, and Social Science. Students can earn credits towards their major, and classes are designed to accommodate students of any major.
Financial Aid and Costs
Students who already qualify for financial aid can use their funds for the program. The program cost does not include the cost of transatlantic flights, and students should budget between $1,000 and $3,500 for additional expenses during the semester.
Housing and Roommates
Students can choose their own roommates, and housing assignments are made after the group arrives in Italy. Students will have the opportunity to discuss their lodging preferences with the director.
Independent Travel
During the semester, students have two 3-day weekends and a 5-day semester break, allowing for independent travel. Students can plan trips with their classmates, and the program provides recommendations for travel and accommodations.
Camera Requirements for Digital Photo Class
For the digital photo class, students need a DSLR camera that can shoot in RAW format, zoom and focus manually, and set aperture and shutter speed manually. Students can contact the photo instructor for more information on camera requirements.
Receiving Mail and Packages
Students can receive mail at the school in Certaldo, but packages are subject to customs and tax. It is recommended that students do not have packages sent to them in Italy, as this can be expensive and time-consuming.
Medications and Prescriptions
Students should bring any necessary medications with them to Italy, as some medications may not be available or may have different names. Students should also speak with their doctor about getting an extra refill of prescription medication before leaving.
Additional Information
The program provides a student handbook with more information on classes, housing, and travel. Students can also contact the program director for more information on the program and its requirements.
