Program Details
The program is led by faculty members, including Dr. Misun Hur, who led the 2025 Pirates Abroad South Korea study abroad program. This program took place from May 19 to June 2, 2025, and included 13 students, as well as an undergraduate Teaching Assistant, Cooper Hilbert.
Sustainable Urbanism in South Korea
The study abroad program focused on sustainable urbanism in South Korea, with students choosing their own topics of interest and keeping daily blogs. Topics included:
- Cultural blueprints (Faith Walker)
- Local food systems and urban agriculture (Katherine Shearin)
- Urban Bloom: green infrastructure (Miranda Nelson)
- Architectural materials (Nicholas Dunnebacke)
- Sustainable tourism (Fletcher Miglorie)
Students were required to submit a full report on their chosen topic, presented in the format of a short video or a StoryMap.
