• Subtitling (core, 20 credits):
• Focuses on audiovisual translation (AVT) mode specifically subtitling.
• Introduces challenges faced by translators working with audiovisual material.
• Equips students with practical skills for subtitling.
• Offered: Spring semester - Wednesday afternoons
• Translation Tools and the Translator (core, 20 credits):
• Focuses on both TEnTs and terminology mining.
• Covers Internet resource utilization and practical training in proprietary translation and terminology management software.
• Equips students with transferability skills for various TEnTs.
• Offered: Spring semester - Wednesday afternoons, Autumn semester - Monday afternoons
• Website and Software Localisation (core, 20 credits):
• Aims to create awareness of translational issues in localisation and provide practical skills for professional environments.
• Provides insights into the cultural, linguistic, and technical nuances of localisation.
• Offers advanced practical training in TEnTs and other localization program usage.
