Program Overview


Tourism and Travel Management (Top-up) - BA (Hons)

The Tourism and Travel Management (Top-up) degree is a final year (Level 6) of an undergraduate degree course, designed for those who have a foundation degree, Higher National Diploma, or equivalent qualification. This program aims to bring students closer to a managerial career in the travel and tourism sector.


Why Study This Course?

This degree will investigate contemporary issues, including how to evaluate and mitigate risks, develop tourism marketing strategies, and manage visitor attractions. Students will benefit from close links with government and businesses via membership of the Tourism Management Institute, as well as insights from international projects by research centers such as the Association for Tourism and Leisure Education and Research (ATLAS).


Course Details

  • Entry Requirements: In addition to the University's standard entry requirements, students should have one of the following:
    • 240 credits from a Higher National Diploma (HND), Foundation Degree (FdA/FdSc), or equivalent international qualification in a relevant subject
    • 240 credits from years 1 and 2 of an undergraduate degree (BA/BSc) in a relevant subject at a different institution
  • Accreditation of Prior Learning: Any university-level qualifications or relevant experience gained prior to starting university could count towards the course at London Met.
  • English Language Requirements: To study a degree at London Met, students must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the English language.

Assessment

Assessments include simulation of professional practice and consultancy, independent and group research for a field trip and survey-based projects, portfolios, posters, and videos, along with more traditional essays, reports, case studies, presentations, tests, and a final dissertation.
