Tourism and Travel Management (including foundation year) BA (Hons)

The Tourism and Travel Management (including foundation year) BA (Hons) degree is designed for students who want to pursue a career in the tourism and travel industry. This four-year course includes a foundation year, which provides students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their subsequent three years of study.

Entry Requirements

  • At least one A level (or a minimum of 32 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification, eg BTEC Subsidiary/National/BTEC Extended Diploma)
  • English Language GCSE at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)

Accreditation of Prior Learning

Any university-level qualifications or relevant experience gained prior to starting university could count towards this course at London Met.


English Language Requirements

To study a degree at London Met, students must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the English language. If a Student visa is required, students may need to provide the results of a Secure English Language Test (SELT) such as Academic IELTS.


Assessment

Students will be assessed through independent and group research, survey-based projects, portfolios, posters, and videos, as well as traditional essays, reports, case studies, presentations, tests, and a final dissertation.

Students will benefit from links to employers in the tourism and travel sector through membership of the Tourism Management Institute.


Career Prospects

This course is designed to offer students the best possible prospects on graduation. Graduates have gone on to work in managerial roles with tour operators, in road, rail, sea, and air transport, and in research and consultancy.
