Fashion Design Summer Course: Textile Design

Degree Overview:

This two-week intensive summer course offers an introduction to the world of textile design. It is divided into two parts:

Theoretical Part:

Students will acquire foundational knowledge about various materials, structures, and techniques used in weaving and printing. This includes:

• Structures: Understand various weaving and knitting techniques.
• Printing Techniques: Explore various printing methods like screen printing, digital printing, and hand printing.
• Tissue in General, and Textile Fibers, Printing, and Dyeing: Develop a comprehensive understanding of textile basics, including fabric construction, dyeing processes, and printing techniques.

Laboratorial Part:

Applying the acquired knowledge, students will learn to evaluate appropriate techniques for specific fabrics and create a mini textile design project. This will involve:

• Selecting appropriate techniques: Analyze different fabrics and choose the most suitable weaving, knitting, or printing method based on its characteristics and desired outcome.
• Producing a mini project: Design and create a small textile project, showcasing your understanding of materials, techniques, and design principles.

Objectives:

• Equip students with basic knowledge about textile materials, structures, and techniques.
