Degree Overview:

This BSc (Hons) in Technology Management course aims to equip students with a solid understanding of management principles in a technological setting, and to refine their business, leadership, and management skills. Upon graduation, students will have acquired a solid foundation in technology management principles and their practical applications. They will be able to comprehend and apply theory, concepts, and methods within IT and business domains, particularly in the areas of information systems, business analysis, data analytics, and social media. They will gain expertise in designing an organization's IT strategy, managing information systems effectively, and understanding the operations of a business environment influenced by technology. Graduates will develop analytical abilities to identify, formulate, and implement strategies and solutions in both business and technology management contexts. The program also emphasizes teamwork in information technology environments and enhances students' proficiency in leveraging data and information systems for informed decision-making. Course Schedule

This is a full-time, four-year honors degree program, spanning eight semesters. Continuous assessment occurs throughout the program, with formal examinations at the end of each semester.

Assessment in the program involves continuous evaluation throughout the semesters and examinations held at the conclusion of each semester.

Careers:

Graduates of the program are equipped to pursue careers in both business and information technology fields. The interdisciplinary nature of the program prepares students for roles in various industries, such as Google, Citi, Hertz, Dell, BNY Mellon, Electric Ireland, Hewlett Packard, OmniPay, and Realex Payments. Graduates have held diverse roles, including sales, account management, fund accounting, data analysis, and management information reporting. According to the CSO, ICT graduates earn higher weekly salaries compared to graduates from other sectors five years post-graduation.

Additional Information:

• Students have the opportunity to gain practical work experience through a six-month work placement.
• NCI students have a strong reputation and have successfully secured work experience placements at companies such as Microsoft, O2, ESB, Wells Fargo, Dotmobi, Datalex, and Intel.
• Graduates can progress to postgraduate programs at level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications, such as the MSc in Fintech and MSc in Data Analytics at the National College of Ireland.
