About the Newhouse Master’s in Advertising

Our intensive, yearlong advertising master’s program gets you the education and experience you need to launch your career in advertising.


You will engage with all aspects of the dynamic advertising industry. In addition to a real-world grounding in advertising theory and practice, you will be immersed in social media, connected television (CTV), programmatic advertising, environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies and digital privacy and ethics. You will work in collaborative team environments, honing your communications skills while working with real-world clients presenting directly to current agency and brand leaders.


What Will I Learn in the Advertising Master’s Program?

You will learn all about all aspects of the industry while allowing you to go deeper into a particular area of interest, such as digital advertising, ad production, media planning and buying or social media.


You will have the opportunity to travel to New York City and visit the headquarters of the industry’s leading global companies, hosted by alums who are now leaders at top ad agencies, ad tech firms and media companies.

Eric Mower Advertising Forum

The Eric Mower Advertising Forum was established by the Newhouse advertising department in 2009, in honor of alumnus Eric Mower ’66, G’68, chairman and CEO of advertising and public relations firm Mower. The EMA Forum brings top executives from across the industry to Syracuse, providing students with opportunities to hear from and interact with the leaders of industry.


TNH (Student Run Advertising Agency)

You don’t have to wait until after graduation to start your career as an advertising professional. TNH is the largest student-run advertising agency in the country. They work with local and national clients, conducting research, developing insights and strategies and launching campaigns.


Faculty

Advertising faculty members bring extensive professional experience and scholarly activity to their academic work. They are former advertising executives, authors of the field’s most influential books and articles and specialty advertising experts.
