Course Description
The course studies sustainable development in the context of the European Green Capital 2015, exploring the challenges of creating a sustainable future. It covers the role of businesses, governments, and individuals in ensuring sustainability informs every aspect of operations, policy-making, and personal choices.
Employer Enhancing Skills
Students work on live briefs and real-world projects, accessing organisations and case studies through UWE Bristol's research activities and network of sustainability partners. The course enhances employability by applying skills and knowledge to real-world challenges.
Entry
Entry Requirements
- Normally requires an honours degree of 2.2 or above
- Relevant professional experience and/or equivalent qualifications considered on an individual basis for those not meeting grade requirements
- Personal statement required as part of the application
- International students may qualify through UWE Bristol's International College if they do not meet academic or English language requirements
- English language support available for those requiring additional language skills
English Language Requirement
- Minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent)

- Optional modules to the value of 30 credits, chosen from the CATE Optional Module Portfolio
Learning and Teaching
- Taught sessions on campus from an interdisciplinary team
- Guided learning through lectures, tutorials, seminars, workshops, and case studies
- Independent study to acquire knowledge and challenge existing perspectives
- Work-based learning involving a six-week professional project
Assessment
- Combination of coursework and presentations
- Project-based assessment focusing on real-world challenges to build a portfolio of work in pro-sustainability change
