Program Overview


BSc(Hons) Sport Rehabilitation

The BSc(Hons) Sport Rehabilitation course is accredited by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) and is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a sport rehabilitator.


About the Course

This course focuses on understanding, preventing, and treating sports and exercise-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. Students will learn how to provide safe and effective care to people suffering from injury, illness, or disease related to sports and musculoskeletal conditions.

As a sport rehabilitator, you will play a vital role in supporting people of all ages and backgrounds to maintain their health and fitness and recover from injury. You could work in a variety of settings, including the NHS, Ministry of Defence, private practice, sport, and more.


Why UWE Bristol?

During the course, British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) student members may apply for malpractice insurance upon successful completion of the Sport Rehabilitation Practice 1 module for a small fee. The policy allows students to practice the soft tissue massage techniques gained on the module autonomously.


Course Structure

The course is three years long, with a September intake, and is delivered full-time. The course code is BC96, and the tariff points required are 120.


Entry Requirements

To apply for this course, you will need to meet the following requirements:


  • GCSE: Grade C/4 or above in English, Mathematics, and Double Science, or equivalent
  • Tariff points: 120

  • English Language Requirement: International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 7.0 with 6.5 in each component

Learning and Teaching

The course combines university-based experience with extensive placement experience. You will learn how to provide safe and effective care to people suffering from injury, illness, or disease related to sports and musculoskeletal conditions.


Assessment

You will be assessed using coursework, professional practice assessments, presentations, practical and written examinations, and research.
