Specialist Programme Trailblazer Programme
The Trailblazer Programme is a pioneering and exclusive professional development programme, relevant across disciplines, regardless of when you graduated. Launched in September 2018, this programme is currently run as a diverse range of online interactive sessions. Participants are motivated to maximise personal impact, boost effectiveness and develop leadership skills.
About
This programme is offered exclusively to UWE Bristol and Help to Grow alumni on a complimentary basis, with a Ł30 administrative fee. It enables participants to take advantage of their lifelong connection to the university's expertise and community, gaining up-to-date relevant skills to use in their professional career. Participants will also gain access to a growing and vibrant community of Trailblazers with future networking events.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this programme, however places are offered exclusively to UWE Bristol alumni from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and Help to Grow alumni.
Structure
The programme will be delivered via online learning, meaning participants can attend and study from anywhere in the world. Participants will attend live and interactive group taught sessions online on set dates. At the end of the programme, participants will receive a Digital Credential to confirm completion of the programme, provided they attend all sessions.
Content
The programme consists of the following sessions:
- Session 1 - Building inclusive leadership skills: Delivered by Dr Alvin Hadiono and Dr Tinkuma Edafioghor, this session focuses on understanding inclusive leadership, implicit assumptions, and biases, and developing the necessary knowledge, motivation, and skills to become an inclusive leader.
- Session 2 - Being entrepreneurial in the workplace: Delivered by Tom de Pentheny O'Kelly and Lauren Caple, this session explores entrepreneurial characteristics and how they can be applied to overcome challenges and maximise opportunities in the workplace.
- Session 3 - Self-development growth and empowerment: Delivered by Dr Alvin Hadiono, this session enables participants to reflect on their existing training and development needs and provides tools to seek opportunities for upskilling and enhancing personal development.
- Session 4 - Coaching and mentoring: Delivered by Dr Arthur Turner, this session develops participants' coaching and mentoring skills to enhance performance and encourage self-exploration.
Prices and Dates
Although the programme is complimentary for UWE Bristol and Help to Grow alumni, a Ł30 administrative fee is required. The programme is not currently open for applications, but future session dates will be added to the programme page.
Features
To fully participate in the programme, participants will need access to a computer with a webcam to participate in online sessions. A personalised virtual tour of the Business Management facilities is available, showcasing what a typical day could look like.
