Course Description
This distance learning course gives students a set of transferable skills that make them highly sought after in the job market. It delivers a program of study to provide graduates of a non-associated degree with the core technical knowledge and skills that can lead to membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Entry Requirements
- Normally require an honors degree of 2.2 or above.
- Consideration for those with at least 12 months of relevant professional experience and/or equivalent qualifications on an individual basis.
English Language Requirement
- International and EU applicants require a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent).

- The course is delivered over four semesters, with the first semester starting in September and ending in December, and the second semester running from January to April.

- Strategic Estate Management: Covers the role property plays in the economy, organizations, and communities, and the importance of a strategic approach to managing property.
- Real Estate Law: Covers the basic principles of real estate law and explores the law in areas best suited to the student's ambitions in further detail.
- Real Estate Investment and Development: Examines key areas of commercial real estate investment at the portfolio level and innovations in real estate investment.
- Managerial Finance for the Built Environment: Provides a firm grounding in the interpretation of published accounts and financial information, introducing management accounting.
- Sustainability in the Built Environment: Delivered by a multidisciplinary team to provide the foundation for understanding how sustainable development can be achieved in both new and existing developments.
Dissertation
- A personal research project of 12,000 to 14,000 words, usually linked to an aspect of real estate with a specific professional application or of personal interest to the student.
