Entry Requirements:


EU Home Students:

  • A degree in midwifery from a recognized university.
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • A minimum of one year's post-registration experience as a midwife.
  • Satisfactory completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Evidence of recent professional development.

International Overseas Students (outside the EU):

  • All of the above requirements for EU home students.
  • A valid Tier 4 student visa.
  • English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.0 or above.
  • Applicants who have been out of practice for more than five years may be required to undertake additional training or experience.
  • Places on the program are limited and are allocated on a competitive basis.
  • Applications are initially made through employing organizations.
  • A list of supporting organizations can be found on the Health Education South West website.
  • Interviews will be held jointly with the employing organization and UWE Bristol.
  • Successful applicants should then register online for the Return to Practice course within 7 days of accepting the post.
