Program Overview

International Year One

This programme is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree.

As part of the International Year One, you will study in university-style classes and learn with a combination of classroom teaching, small group tuition and personal tutorial sessions with lecture-style classes and you will progress to Year 2 of your undergraduate degree.

This programme is designed to significantly improve your academic language skills, including critical thinking and academic writing, whilst allowing you the additional classroom support you need from our qualified teachers.

International Year One in Business & Management

You will study the following modules:

• Semester 1:
  • Introduction to Business Management
  • Academic and Professional Communication for Business
  • Introduction to Marketing
• Semester 2:
  • Analytical Skills for Business
  • Methods for Market Research
  • People and Organisations

Upon successful completion of the International Year One, you may progress to one of the following programmes:

• BSc (Hons) International Business Management
• BSc (Hons) Business Management

International Year One in Computer Science

You will study the following modules:

• Semester 1:
  • English for Technical Communication
  • Mathematics for Computer Science
  • Programming Fundamentals
• Semester 2:
  • Introduction to Computer Science
  • Systems Architecture and Operating Systems
  • Web Project

Upon successful completion of the International Year One, you may progress to the following programme:

• BSc (Hons) Computer Science

Key Facts for International Year One

• Start dates: September 2025, January 2026
• Visa type: Integrated Visa (International Year One + Degree Programme)
• Tuition fee: £14,900

Minimum English Language Level

• Academic IELTS 5.5 overall (and no component below 5.5) or equivalent

Academic Entry Requirements

• Completion of 3 x A Levels (or equivalent) or to have completed a recognised foundation programme or first year of an overseas degree with good grades (or equivalent).
• Each application will be considered individually and assessed on their ability to succeed on the International Year One programme.
