Program Overview


Pre-Master’s Programme

This programme is the first step to gaining your Master’s degree in the UK. It is designed to prepare you for your studies by allowing you to practice your academic skills in a supportive environment. Though you may have experience of studying at undergraduate level in another country, the expectations of postgraduate study can be very different in the UK.


You will be taught in interactive classes and university-style research sessions, by the time you finish this programme, you will have the fundamental skills you need to attain your master’s degree, including:


  • Academic Writing
  • Critical Thinking
  • Academic Research

Our supportive teachers will work with you to help you to reach your full potential. During your studies, you will learn by attending a range of dynamic lessons which are designed to build your confidence including discussions, presentations, lectures, small group tutorials and personal tutor sessions.


Business & Social Sciences (1 term)

You will study the following modules:


  • Academic English and Communication Skills
  • Critical Thinking and Research Foundations

Upon successful completion of the 1-term Pre-Master's Programme, you may progress to one of the following programmes:


  • MA Outdoor and Experiential Learning
  • MA Education/Education Leadership
  • MBA
  • MSc International Management
  • MA Literature, Romanticism and the English Lake District
  • MSc Psychology Legal & Criminological

Minimum English Language Level:

1 term: Academic IELTS 6.0 overall (and no component below 5.5) or equivalent.


Academic Entry Requirements:

  • A pass in an undergraduate degree or a Diploma (3–5 years) with suitable grades or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of higher/advanced diploma in a related subject area.
  • All students must have studies in the relevant field to continue in those degrees.
  • Each applicant will be considered individually and assessed on their ability to succeed at this level.
