Course Overview
The course will develop your skills and knowledge to enable you to conduct a fire investigation and to communicate the findings of the investigation to stakeholders in writing and verbally to in accordance with legal requirements, appropriate conventions and agreed protocols.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must have fire investigation experience or have been appointed to a role where they will be able to generate evidence of work based fire investigative skills as part of the qualification process.

- Course fee: £2,750
Progression Pathways
This programme forms part of a formal qualification structure for fire investigators and provides access to the Advanced Certificate in Fire Investigation.
Learning Environment
You will take theory and practical classes, conducting practical fire investigations on full scale buildings. Assessment is by assignments and practicals. Practical assessment involves full scale room burns, preparation of reports and simulated court attendance.
This course is part-time: One module - Two week taught programme; 60 hours pre-course guided reading and 60 hours post-course guided learning.

The course is delivered by academics with extensive experience in fire related subjects and fire service professionals who bring years of experience from working in the fire and rescue service.
