Overview

This is a 5-day in-person, non-accredited course in PLAB 2/Medical Licensing Assessment Preparation. This will help international medical graduates prepare for the General Medical Council MLA and therefore be eligible to work in the UK.

What You'll Do

You will attend our Preston Campus in the UK, to undertake practice assessments to gain the knowledge, skills and experience required to sit the PLAB 2/MLA Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA). Be taught by experienced clinicians. And have access to a wealth of online resources via our virtual learning environment.

Future Careers

Successful completion of the GMC PLAB 2/MLA is necessary for all international doctors who wish to work in the UK.

Fees and Funding

• Course fee: £700

Entry Requirements

• Hold International equivalent of MBBS
• IELTS score of 7.5 or OET score of minimum 350 (Grade B) in all four of the OET sub-tests

Learning and Assessment

The 5-day course is delivered in-person, but in addition there are extensive online resources to guide you to key areas of learning to ensure you have a comprehensive knowledge of clinical skills and procedures.

Assessment is in the form of a practical OSCE examination.

The course is a non-accredited CPD course. You will gain a certificate of attendance upon completion.

It is anticipated that students will independently book their PLAB 2/MLA exam with the GMC to coincide with their visit to the UK following completion of this course. Please note GMC exam dates may have limited availability, so we advise that you prioritise this task.

You also must have had your PLAB 1 Pass results released to you within the last 3 years.

Enquiries and Applications

You will need to apply for a standard visitor visa, and once all course requirements have been met, the University will provide you with a course offer letter that you will need to evidence for your visa application.

You also need to independently book your travel requirements and also your accommodation in Preston near the University campus, with arrival at your accommodation at least 1 day before the course start date.
