Course overview

On successful completion of the Smart Pharma short course, you will be able to:

• Articulate examples that highlight how Smart Pharma has played a role in enhancing health and care outcomes. The focus will be on patients who are coping with long-term conditions.
• Identify how Smart Pharma can aid the delivery of care across a care pathway. You'll focus on the impact it can have on reducing the burden and pressure on hospitals, GPs etc.
• Analyse the different applications of Smart Pharma technology in health and care delivery.

• How is Smart Pharma used within the UK and internationally?

Entry requirements

• British honours degree (2:2 class or above) or equivalent in a relevant subject from an approved institution of higher education
• GCSE Grade C or above in English Language / IELTS Level 6.5 or equivalent
• Non-standard applicants are welcomed. Recognition of Prior and Work-Based Learning in accordance with University regulations may be available

Fees and funding

• 2024/25: UK, Part-time £1,100 per candidate
• 2025/26: UK, Part-time £1,600 per candidate

Additional costs

As part of your course there may be additional costs to consider that are not included in your tuition fees. Most of these will be optional, but some courses have essential additional costs.

Learning and assessment

This course is delivered online. You'll engage in a range of lectures, discussions and tutorials within an online environment.

Pathway opportunities

The Smart Pharma short course offers 20 credits towards the MSc Digital Health.
