Our MArch Architecture course focuses on design innovation and current theories of architecture and urbanism to challenge your thinking and prepare you for practice.

Future careers
Once validated, completion of this master’s course in Architecture aims to prepare you for exemption from the RIBA Part 2 examination and for access to the next stage in your career in professional practice.
Entry requirements
- Applicants will have achieved a minimum 2:2 Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (ARB / RIBA recognised Part I) or similar discipline* and may have successfully completed a period of time (typically 1 year) in architectural practice commensurate with RIBA Stage 1 Professional Experience
- *Please note those students who enter the course without a recognised ARB / RIBA Part 1 qualification are required to make their own arrangements for Part 1 recognition externally
- Students applying for the Masters in Architecture must have a minimum level of proficiency equal to IELTS 6.0 with no component score lower than 5.5 or equivalent in the English language

- UK: Full-time £9,535 per year
- International: Full-time £17,900 per year

Learning and assessment
A special feature of this course is the unique blend of practice and theory, which underpins the student projects. You’ll study some of your modules alongside students from other art and design disciplines as well as our construction, environmental and engineering degrees. You’ll experience a sharing of knowledge and expertise.

Our Associate Year Out programme currently has a number of students employed by both Architecture and Design practices across the country.
The Architectural Studies Unit at the University has an Advisory Board composed of experts from industry and lay people who are informing the development and fine-tuning of our courses to ensure our graduates are employable and sought after in the market. The Professional Studies module also allows you to strengthen your knowledge of the architect’s role in the process of building through frequent interaction with architectural practitioners in the classroom, in the office and on site.
