Overview
This part-time course is designed for experienced dentists to gain the skills to use conscious sedation safely and effectively. The program complies with national guidelines, including IACSD, Dental Faculties of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons and Royal College of Anaesthetists.

Modules
Compulsory Modules
- Clinical Skills in Conscious Sedation (DX4007): Gain the knowledge and skills to practise safe and effective conscious sedation.
- Medical and Scientific Aspects of Conscious Sedation (DX4008): Introduce topics related to conscious sedation, including patient examination, treatment planning, and potential complications.
- Techniques in Conscious Sedation (DX4999): Equip you with the knowledge and clinical skills needed for safe and effective conscious sedation in primary dental care.
Entry Requirements
- Full GDC registration
- Enhanced DBS and occupational health checks
- Indemnity insurance cover
- Current certificate of immunisation against communicable disease (Hepatitis B)
- Completed Immediate Life Support in line with national guidelines
- Sufficient competency in English language (IELTS Level 7 or equivalent)
