Course overview
On successful completion, you will be able to:
- Appraise current practice and knowledge of AR in healthcare
- Discuss the technologies that allow rapid introduction of AR into health practice and impact on equitable health delivery
- Demonstrate creative thinking in designing an applied science project
The course includes:
- A practical and inquisitive approach encouraging students to develop potential application of technologies from other sectors into healthcare
- Basic tutorials online and the opportunity to consider the application of AR to possible health-based scenarios
- Projects will be grounded in a workplace scenario in a local provider of healthcare.

Entry requirements
- British honours degree (2:2 class or above) or equivalent in a relevant subject from an approved institution of higher education.
- GCSE Grade C or above in English Language / IELTS Level 6.5 or equivalent.
- Non-standard applicants are welcomed. Recognition of Prior and Work-Based Learning in accordance with University regulations may be available.
Learning and assessment
This course is delivered online. You'll engage in a range of lectures, discussions and tutorials within an online environment.
Pathway opportunities
The Augmented Reality in Healthcare short course offers 20 credits towards the MSc Digital Health.
