Our Veterinary Education, Coaching and Leadership PGCert is a part-time, online course created for veterinary professionals. This flexible and engaging veterinary coaching and education course has been designed to fit around your home and work commitments to allow it to be as accessible as possible.

    • Module code: VN4000
    • Description: To enhance and develop the skills of an educator within a range of veterinary clinical settings.
  • Coaching and Mentoring for Veterinary Professionals
    • Module code: VN4001
    • Description: To explore the role of the coach and mentor in veterinary clinical practice, along with the theories, principles and models that underpin effective practice.
  • Leadership in Veterinary Clinical Practice
    • Module code: VN4002
    • Description: To develop the leadership skills of veterinary and allied professionals by critically examining the theory and practice of leadership and applying this to a clinical practice setting.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications:
    • British honours degree (2:2 class or above) in a veterinary professional subject (e.g., Veterinary Nursing, Veterinary Physiotherapy, Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent from an approved institution of higher education
    • Non-standard applicants are welcomed. Recognition of Prior and Work-Based Learning in accordance with University regulations may be available
    • Have sufficient competency in English language (IELTS Level 6.0 or equivalent)

Fees and Funding

  • 2025/26
    • UK: Online part-time £1,050 per 20 credits
  • Additional costs: As part of your course there may be additional costs to consider that are not included in your tuition fees. Most of these will be optional, but some courses have essential additional costs.

Learning and Assessment

  • The course is designed to promote analytical thinking, direct application of skills and critical reflection of your own experiences which helps to develop independent learning skills.
  • The teaching activities, assessment strategy and course structure have been formulated to be directly applicable to the professional roles of the participants.
  • There is an emphasis on using and sharing the expertise of the participants to aid the learning process and facilitate an increased understanding of how the materials covered relate to veterinary practice.

Pathway Opportunities

  • On successful completion of this PGCert Veterinary Education, Coaching and Leadership, you can choose to continue your studies with us to complete a MSc/PGDip Veterinary Primary Care and Clinical Leadership.
