Course Description

Our cutting-edge Architecture Foundation Year degree teaches you all the architectural theory you’ll need, paired with conservation, sustainability and environmental issues.

What You'll Do

• Learn about design theory and develop practical skills in architectural drawing and model making.
• Assemble a portfolio of work throughout the year, which you will display at an exhibition.
• Complete a final project which will demonstrate your design, architectural drawing and architectural model making ability.

• UCAS: 64 points at A2
• BTEC Extended Diploma: MPP
• BTEC Diploma: MM
• Pass Access Course: 64 points
• International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 64 points from Higher Level subjects.
• T Level: P (D or E)
• IELTS: grade 6.0 with no component lower than 5.5
• GCSEs: 5 at Grade C /4 including Maths and English or equivalent

Learning and Assessment

• Various subject-specific teaching and learning methods are used to ensure students achieve the intended learning outcomes of the course and their professional development is recorded in their Portfolio of work.
• Design Studio accounts for more than 50% of assessed work (required by RIBA) and is therefore the key element of the course.
• Assessment of Portfolio takes place at the end of each semester by the studio team and a moderator (course leader or academic lead).
