Overview

Explore a range of art and design subjects in our foundation year. This will help you discover your passion and decide what to study as a degree.

• Our foundation year is flexible and allows you to explore a range of creative subjects before deciding what you'd like to study as a degree.
• You’ll work in a studio with facilities like wood and plaster workshops, textiles workshops, digital design equipment and more.
• Once you have successfully completed your foundation year, you are guaranteed progression onto one of our art or media courses.

What you’ll do

• You can explore a number of different subjects, including fine art, fashion design, textile design, photography and more.
• You'll work on a number of projects, giving you the opportunity to try different specialisms in greater depth.
• You'll be part of a community of creatives. Meet people with different interests and discover new ways of working.

Entry requirements

• UCAS: 48 points at A2
• BTEC Extended Diploma: PPP
• BTEC Diploma: MP
• Pass Access Course: 48 UCAS points
• International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 48 points from Higher Level subjects
• T Level: P (D or E)
• IELTS: grade 6.0 with no subscore lower than 5.5
• GCSEs: 5 at Grade C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent

Fees and funding

• UK: £9,535 for the first year
• International: £17,250 for the first year

Learning and assessment

• Your study will be a mixture of lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical sessions and independent study.
• Assessment is continual and can take the form of:
  • Individual presentations
  • Verbal critiques
  • Group assessment work
  • Seminar presentations
