Are you looking to join the multibillion-pound sports media and TV industry? Our MA Sports Media Production will give you the skills and knowledge needed to start your creative career.

On our postgraduate Sports Media Production degree you'll work on live sports broadcasts, produce content for Sky TV and gain essential broadcast credits as you learn. You'll work in a fast-paced and practical environment, equipping you for work in sports broadcasting, entertainment and content creation.
You'll have access to world-class production facilities including our UHD 4K multi-camera television studio, remote video podcast studio, virtual set and 4K editing booths. You'll also learn from professionals that have worked on thousands of sports fixtures as Camera Operators, Directors and Producers, to name a few.
Our 4K production offices allow you to take control of your own learning space. They're equipped with editing facilities exclusively for the Sports Media Team. You'll be able to access meeting spaces, a development office, a remote PTZ research space and much more.
At the University of Central Lancashire, we celebrated our 50th episode on Sky TV in 2024. Our students make exciting and dynamic content that is enjoyed by people around the world.

- When you join the course, you become a member of our Sports Media Team. You'll develop content for several broadcasters and platforms.
- Sessions are practical and help you build your production skills and awareness of professional processes.
- You'll access industry facilities and production techniques that will help you produce content and gain active employment.

Production Skills
From the ground up, learn shooting, editing, planning, research and production skills.
You'll learn Sports Media Production craft skills including elements of content creation, editing, directing and lighting and sound techniques
You will also consider how your subject-specific knowledge can be applied to Sports Media Production environments. These applications and solutions will form part of your own extended portfolio.

Group Project
In this module you'll produce content for real brands and broadcasters, as part of a dynamic team.
You'll research, present and develop new concepts of Sports Media Production projects. Your concepts will emphasise supporting team members through the realisation and development of a body of professional work.
Content development will be supported by workshops, studio sessions, tutorials and seminars, as well as master classes led by industry professionals.

Final Project
In this module you'll follow your passion, create your own brief and create something that you always wanted to.
The Final Project is a practical brief underpinned by contextual research. You will set, negotiate and meet your own objective. You're invited to source your own professional clients or the module tutor will act as the client.
You'll select, devise, apply and critically evaluate appropriate methods and tools for data and information collection, considering an extended piece of Sports Media content production.

Entry requirements
- A 2:2 in a Television and Media Production related BA (Hons) degree from the UK or equivalent qualification
- Consideration will be given to alternative BA (equivalent) qualifications to applicants with creative industries’ work experience
- Applications from individuals with non-standard qualifications, relevant work or life experience will be considered
- The University will consider applications for prior learning (certificated or experiential) that fulfil some of the learning outcomes of a course for admission with credit to an appropriate point on that course
- Students applying for this programme must have a minimum level of proficiency equal to IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
