Our foundation year will develop your screenwriting skills in a supportive and nurturing environment. You'll work alongside other creatives and have the opportunity to explore other art and media subjects.

What you’ll do
- You'll work on a number of projects, producing engaging scripts on a range of different topics.
- You'll develop key screenwriting skills, including the ability to interpret and research a brief.
- You'll be part of a creative community and have the chance to meet industry professionals at events like cJam.

Entry requirements
- UCAS: 64 points at A2
- BTEC Extended Diploma: MPP
- BTEC Diploma: MM
- Pass Access Course: 64 UCAS points
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 64 points from Higher Level subjects
- T Level: P (D or E)
- IELTS: grade 6.0 with no component lower than 5.5
- GCSEs: 5 at Grade C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent
Fees and funding
- UK: £5,760 for the first year, £9,535 per year
- International: £17,250 for the first year, £17,325 per year

Learning and assessment
Tutors on the course are all practitioners. Bill McCoid is a BAFTA member, so you’ll get the opportunity to go to BAFTA events; Bill has also written and directed a feature film.
Industry links
We have strong links with BAFTA and the Writers Guild of Great Britain.
Our annual cJAM employability event shakes-up the traditional career fair format and gives you face-to-face time with up to 30 successful industry professionals, all of whom come to the event with the offer of work placement opportunities. You will:
- Hear from keynote industry speakers.
- Take part in an industry Q&A session.
- Network informally during the breaks and lunch.
- Have eight minutes of one-to-one time to pitch to selected industry guests to try and win a placement.
