Immediate Life Support eLearning Course

Overview

The 1-day Immediate Life Support eLearning course (eILS) is developed by the Resuscitation Council UK for healthcare professionals who may act as emergency first responders.

Course Overview

During the course, you will develop the skills to:

• Recognise and treat the deteriorating patient using the ABCDE approach
• Identify the causes and promote the prevention of cardiopulmonary arrest
• Undertake the skills of quality CPR and defibrillation (AED) and simple airway manoeuvres
• Utilise non-technical skills to facilitate team leadership and effective team membership.

Fees and Funding

• Course fee: £140

Learning and Assessment

• Pre-course preparation: Before the course, you will be registered on our Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS allows you to access pre-course modules that will prepare you for your face-to-face session. You may also be asked to complete a pre-course multiple choice question (MCQ) paper.
• Programme: Candidates are free to complete the e-learning in their own time before the face-to-face session. The face-to-face session focuses on skill stations and cardiac arrest simulations (CASTeach).
• Assessment and certification: Assessment is continuous throughout the course and is guided by the assessment forms provided for each core skill. Copies of the assessment forms should be forwarded to the Candidate with their manual. Successful Candidates receive a Resuscitation Council UK ILS provider certificate, valid for one year.
