Course Overview

This course forms a core part of a wider competency framework for fire risk assessment. It offers a clear development pathway to competence through higher educational programmes. It is also mapped to the Skills for Justice Occupational standards for Level 4 Fire Auditor Complex Buildings and Level 4 Fire Auditor Complex Dwellings.

The course focuses on fire risk assessment practice and covers how to determine the nature and scope of an inspection, setting up the necessary working arrangements. It also covers how to identify and evaluate available information about the premises including building construction, fire hazards, fuel sources and associated risks. Finally, you will learn to determine the level of risk in terms of fire initiation, development and risk to life and report the risk assessment findings.

Entry Requirements

• Successful completion of the NEBOSH Fire safety & Risk Management qualification, or a qualification deemed equivalent, or proven experience in fire risk assessment practice.
