Overview
Our Education (with Foundation Year) course will give you the essential skills and knowledge required for success in higher education and beyond. In the foundation year, you'll learn about theories and real-life applications in education. You will focus on developing your critical thinking, communication, and research skills. These are essential for understanding complex educational theories and practices. You'll also discuss current issues in education. This includes policies, teaching methods, and how education plays a vital role in the growth of society.
When you successfully complete the foundation year, you'll progress onto our BA (Hons) Education. You'll look at educational systems from early childhood to lifelong learning with a strong emphasis on inclusion. Throughout the course, you will examine how different factors impact education. And you'll learn about the roles of teachers and how schools, families, and professionals work together. You'll graduate ready to become an excellent educational practitioner.

- Developing Academic Knowledge

- Description: This interesting module will introduce you to critical thinking and discussion, and essential skills for success at university. A range of world issues and current affairs within broadly defined areas such as, political systems, environmentalism, law and justice, and culture and society, will be explored.
- Target Award Extended Study

- Description: This module aims to develop your digital literacies. You'll have opportunities to focus on a topic within your intended honours degree (target award) course.
- Learning by Experience

- Description: In this module you will explore group working, negotiating and task-based learning while building a reflective learning portfolio. You will choose a project to research, present your findings and exhibit your work as well as reflecting on your learning.
