The MSc in Accounting and Finance is a postgraduate program designed to provide students with a strong practical focus and access to industry-standard tools, such as the Bloomberg Professional system. This program acts as a springboard into a wide range of finance and accounting-related careers.
About
Today's business managers need to be able to analyze and interpret financial information and use this to inform business strategy. This course will help students develop this expertise, as well as giving them an in-depth understanding of the contemporary issues encountered by financial managers. The underlying practical focus ensures that the skills and knowledge gained are highly relevant to the workplace, whichever area of accounting or finance students are seeking to engage in.
Strong Practical Focus
Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance, while also enhancing their critical thinking, research, and analytical skills. During the year, students will:
- Analyze and solve complex problems relating to financial reporting, performance measurement and management, corporate strategy, and financial management
- Be encouraged to think critically and creatively about problems requiring a multi-disciplinary approach
- Develop in-depth knowledge in a specialist topic chosen for their dissertation
- Enhance their key personal skills in time management, information accessing, analysis, and interpretation
- Develop their interpersonal, communication, and management skills through team working, making presentations, and writing reports

Entry
Entry Requirements
Students will need:
- An honors degree of 2:2 or above in Accounting and Finance; or
- An honors degree of 2:1 or above in Economics, Mathematics, or a Business-related subject If students do not meet the above grade requirements but have at least 12 months of relevant professional experience and/or equivalent qualifications, they will be considered on an individual basis
English Language Requirement
International and EU applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent)

Learning and Teaching
Students will learn through formal classes and seminar sessions, as well as group work and independent study. The course will include assignments, exercises, case studies, and presentations, with an emphasis on independent learning to develop analytical and problem-solving skills.
Assessment
Assessments will be a mix of written assignments, supervised mini-projects, role-playing, presentations, and examinations.
